Steps for Cat Grooming
Choose the Right Time
After a meal or while relaxing, your cat will be more cooperative.
Start brushing gently.
Use gentle strokes in the direction of hair growth. Avoid pulling or squeezing.
Examine the fur and skin.
Are there parasites? Wounds? Knots? This is a great time to examine.
Bath as needed.
Once every 4–6 weeks is sufficient, or more often if the cat goes outside.
Reward your cat.
After each session, offer a small treat or playtime. It will associate grooming with something positive.
